I had some fun during the 100 Day Project…I chose farm-related things as my theme and just started playing!
Horses are such expressive and majestic creatures, and I tried to capture that in this acrylic painting. I had a reference photo for this one, and I think I captured the energy of the horse. This is one of my personal favorites.
Your original is approximately 5 1/2 inches by 7 1/2 inches and painted with professional grade paints and sealed with a clear acrylic finish.
It is not UV protected, so keep it out of direct sunlight to prevent fading and discoloration.
Your painting is signed on the front. If you would like me to personalize the back, please leave a name in the notes section of your order.
I used high quality watercolor paper for your painting, so your framing and display options are virtually endless. Here are some of my favorites:
– Use a ready-made frame/mat from any big box retailer as an inexpensive alternative to custom framing. You can use glass because it?s on paper!
– Purchase a custom mat to use with a larger frame. Small art with wide mats in big frames will give your new artwork a classy gallery feel.
– Use an acrylic gel medium to “glue” the painting to a canvas or wooden art panel for a very contemporary look.

It took me longer to take a decent photo than to do the drawing! There's something about having art supplies out that you don't have to set or clean up. I used a black Crayola marker for the under drawing, added white with the fineliner (watered down white acrylic), and used the dropper tip of the acrylic ink for the shadows. I used the end of a huge q-tip for finer lines/shading. If this is all I do today, I'll be quite happy. #100dayproject #100daysartonthefarmproject #acrylicink #acrylic #horse #horseweek
